Monquart \'muhn-kwaht\ n - Also: Monquat; A small river flowing through the north end of Bath, NB (just north of Bristol) which empties into the Saint John River; "Me and Hazen are goan up to Monquart Seardee." The term is used to describe the area surrounding the river as well. Bath and Johnville residents have strong associations with the term, and refer proudly to themselves as "Monquarters." Oddly enough, the latter term is usu. pronounced "mawn-kord-erz" and not "muhn-kwaht-erz."
